'White' is a play about race, gender, sexuality, and art. Gus is a white painter who wants to be included in an exhibition for artists of color, so he hires a black actress to perform as the political and irreverent Balkonaé and pretend to be the author of his works. We're excited to announce we're doing a staged reading of White from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3. If you're interested in acting in theater, but don't want the commitment of a full production, audition to be a part of the cast of White!
All you have to do is film yourself reading the side of the character you want to audition for. You can find the sides here. There's no need to over-prepare and we're not expecting you to have experience with acting. But if you do, you could send us a video of a past performance you're proud of, instead of a video of you reading a side. Whatever's easiest!
We're also looking for a stage manager and for people willing to design set, light and sound. Be mindful that this is not a full production, so the commitment will be reduced compared to a regular show.
