production workshop
welcome
to pw!
Production Workshop (PW) is Brown University’s oldest student theater group, established in 1960!
PW oversees operations of two black box theaters (known as the Downspace and Upspace) located in T.F. Green Hall at 7 Young Orchard Avenue. Annually, PW produces roughly 4 mainstage productions in these spaces, including straight plays, new works festivals, immersive art pieces, and plenty more.
There are loads of ways to get involved with PW, whether by serving on our producing board, acting in or working on shows, or proposing to direct a project.
As always, pw is YOU.

AUDITION or join the PRODUCTION TEAM of IN THE NEXT ROOM!
Join the cast or production team of Production Workshop’s first fall mainstage show, IN THE NEXT ROOM (THE VIBRATOR PLAY)
Set in the 1880s at the dawn of the age of electricity and based on the bizarre historical fact that doctors used vibrators to treat ‘hysterical’ women (and some men), the play centers on a doctor and his wife and how his new therapy affects their entire household.
Performances will take place November 7-10 in the Downspace at TF Green Hall.
Auditions will take place September 9-12 in the Downspace, as well. Prod team sign-ups are rolling.
